Dining on Gabriola
We are lucky to have a number of really good restaurants on Gabriola. My favourite for breakfast and lunch is Ground Up in the village.
For dinner, the new Burro Rosas Tapas Bar is excellent, and the Woodfire Restaurant offers unique wood-fired pizzas, fine Italian pasta dishes and delicious seafood and grill items. Classically French trained and with over 40 years in the business, Chef Chris Hooton has combined traditional Mediterranean flavours with West Coast Flair. Both of these restaurants have outdoor patios.
On the south end where I live, during the summer months we have coffee and baked goods from Ground Up at Pages Marina, and on the weekends the Firetruck Grill food truck serves West Coast inspired flame-grilled meats and seafood at Silva Bay, where you can sit and look out at the boats.
